Illustration Friday: SONG

Swan song.
This is actually based on Hans Christian Anderson's tale called 'Eleven Wild Swans', done for a college assignment... eight years ago. Wow, time flies!

I'm sorry I had to recycle this week. It's been a stressful one, but I was thinking about 'SONG' all week - I got really inspired by this song from a 1973 Vangelis album called Earth:
------------
I would like to write a song
That is so vibrant and so intimate
That the earth would adopt it
As if it had sprung like the stream
From the land's memory
As if no one had written it but life itself
And my song would travel along
From bird to wing, to tree
To breeze to heart to breath to song
Because a song belongs to everyone
Like the spring
------------
But, I've never heard the song, and I feel like I need to in order to interpret it fully... and it's been a little hard to find, so I'll keep it in mind and hopefully down the road I'll come back to it. Enjoy!!

You did a wonderful job! Thank you for sharing (old illo or not). The song is beautiful! I never heard it either...have you tried looking it up in google to see if they have an audio copy?

I love that fairy tale, and your illustration is exquisiste! Are you at all familiar with Adrienne Segur? This has something of her vibe...the graceful lines, the luxurious, flowing hair, the sumptuous gown. Gorgeous!!!

This is just stunning. I wonder what medium you used? Nothing wrong with posting prior work, especially something so beautiful.
